Chick Corea, Eddie Gomez and Brian Blade will perform on May 8th at the ICE Krakow Congress Centre.
On May 8th, 2017, jazz lovers will have an opportunity to hear at the Krakow ICE Congress Centre a concert of the winner of 22 Grammy Awards – Chick Corea, as a part of the World of Great Music and ICE Jazz cycle. With a career spanning over 40 years, the distinguished pianist and composer is regarded as a „live legend”.
Chick Corea is one of the most significant pioneers of the fusion style in music. Apart from numerous awards, Corea's career is also strongly defined by his collaboration with Miles Davis and foundation of the famed group Return To Forever, the repertoire of which has already become a collection of some of the most important standards in the world of jazz.
Chick Corea grew up in a musical atmosphere, he was surrounded by jazz – his father Armando, an Italian by descent, was a professional trumpet player. Chick started taking piano lessons at the age of five. Aged 8, he commenced percussion lessons. His discography encompasses over seventy albums recorded both solo as well as in the company of music stars such as : Bobby McFerrin, Pat Metheny, Dave Holland and Herbie Hancock.
Poland can well be described as an inherent part of his latest concert tours. Chick Corea will perform in Krakow for the third time already and for the first time he will be accompanied by the world-famous double-bass player Eddie Gomez as well as distinguished percussion player Brian Blade.
